HAPPY BIRTHDAY PA!

I know this is a day early, but I wanted to give you all time to think and write a response. Dad is turning the big 50..something, and I thought we could put together a fun list of memories. I will start and get as far as I can. I am hoping to make a list of 50..something (I think its 56) before tomorrow. so here I go.

1. "Quarta" "Quarta" Who's got the "Quarta"

2. Bucking Bronco rides. (yee ha)

3. Oscar and Meyer. Oh how I miss them. Sometimes they visit my kids when they're trying to
get to sleep.

4. The never ending steer washing sessions.

5. The laughing game!!! (pshhhh)

6. When I was 14ish I wanted to drive everywhere so Dad would take me on Sundays to drive.
I'm sure it was to soon for me to drive, but anything is better then the back of the garage.

7. The child molester van. I'm so glad dad finally gawked his way out of that one.

8. Dad volunteered to be a reading dad in my (Kadie) class during 5Th grade. Lunch was
always part of the deal.

9. McKye remembers delivering potatoes to all of dads friends and neighbors. He gave McKye a
to share with his primary teacher.

10. Madsen likes to play basketball with Grandpa Kelly. He use to call him Grandpa Basketball.

Annie's memories

11.*Hand biting while we were doing (or should I say NOT doing) steers.

12.*His incredible patience

13.*Lighting of the fire on Christmas morning

14.*I also remember Dad coming to school to eat lunch with me at East Elementary

15.*Dancing with him while standing on his feet when I was little

16.*Him leaving me big tips when I used to work at Brad's Food Hut

17.*His good advice

18.*And a new memory: Going on bike rides with Dad is so much fun. I hope to continue those for years to come :)

Malea

19. Going with him to Chuck's house (or any other neighbor in need) to bring Sunday Dinner, Garden Vegetables, or just to visit.

20. Chatting with him at the office while he neutered cats and dogs. As messed up as it is, I have really fond memories of that surgery room.

21. He gives really really good hugs. I remember one night when I was really sad about Travis being gone, he gave me a hug and it worked better than any words could at making me feel better. (He is also the one who told me I should wait for Travis when there were other guys in the picture...best advice I've ever gotten!)

22. He always sees the best in people.

23. Stake Conference talks!! ("When you chance to meet a frown...")

24. Hearing him practice his conference talks in front of the bathroom mirror.

25. "Oh, I wish I were an owl!"

26. One word: CAMERA

Happy Birthday Papa! I hope you know what a great job you've done at being our Dad :) I love you!

Waylon's memories

27. Not being nervous when I got called to the Elders quorum by my Father-in-law.
28. Being nervous asking if it was alright to marry his daughter
29. Him telling me in above mentioned conversation, not to let above mentioned daughter walk all over me.
30. Remembering the four-wheelers but not the keys.
31. Telling me to quit cerro copper. Good advice.
32. going to the Jazz game and almost dying via rear end of a car at 75mph.
(thank goodness for Annie screaming.)
